My research focuses on the analysis of environmental change through space and time; looking at potential approaches to more effectively integrate natural capital values and environmental considerations into urban and rural planning decisions. Although the focal point of my research has been physical geography, human geography aspects of policy implementation and public participation in decision-making are of significant interest to me. I am particularly interested in the contribution of spatial analytics to environmental planning and governance. This includes the development of pragmatic geospatial methods to enhance assessment and monitoring processes in support of evidence-based, sustainable and resilient spatial planning.
