BIO

Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common extracranial solid childhood tumour, associated with low survival rates for relapse patients. Despite recent improvements in therapeutic strategies to treat neuroblastoma, new and less toxic types of treatments are urgently needed. My primary research interests are focused on understanding gene regulatory networks in neuroblastoma and identifying novel therapeutic vulnerabilities. My specific interests are in the field of epigenetic leads and their potential synergy with targeted therapies and chemotherapeutics, by utilsing transcriptomics, genomics, epigenomics and protein network reconstruction.
I am also actively involved in the problematics of early onset colorectal cancer in Irish population, in collaboration with St Vincent's University Hospital team. This work is primarily focused on the investigation of the of the multiomics integration potential and its utility in the clinical setting for improved patient stratification, diagnostics and innovative treatments.
