BIO

My expertise covers remote sensing in Earth Observation via optical, multispectral and radar imagery. I am specialised in SAR/InSAR techniques to characterise and quantify ground surface (e.g., displacements, topographic changes, etc.). Since end‑2016 and end‑2019, I hold a Master’s degree and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University Clermont Auvergne, France. I developed and implemented an automatic processing of SAR satellite data and developed new algorithms to monitor lava flow emplacement during eruptions, in order toreduce the risks related to volcanic eruptions. Currently, I work at University College Dublin, Ireland. My teaching mission is about remote sensing for Earth observation. My research work focuses on SAR and InSAR applications on peatlands and their peat eco-hydrological drivers (i.e., groundwater levels), in order to propose the solutions for a robust estimation of greenhouse gas emissions from peat soils, required for a sustainable society. My work also includes, through international collaborations, on monitoring volcano deformations, understanding their processes and defining their hazards and risks as well as engineering-related geodesy applications, such as landslides and unstable infrastructure.
