BIO
I am an Assistant Professor of European Comparative Politics in the School of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, and previously held positions as a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham (TwiceAsGood project), a Marie Curie Research Associate (PI of GAPREP project) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at SPIRe, UCD.
My research examines political representation, party competition, and the strategies parties use to appeal to social groups, using computational text analysis methods and surveys. With Lena Maria Huber (MZES, University of Mannheim) and Will Horne (Clemson University), I built the PSoGA (Parties' Social Group Appeals) database, a comparative resource covering party manifestos across eight countries and 55 years and the GroupAppeals Python package. My work has been published in the British Journal of Political Science, Party Politics, Parliamentary Affairs, Computational Communication Research, and Representation.
Since 2025, I am the co-PI of the CONSTRUCT project, an international collaborative project funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and administered by the Volkswagen Foundation, with Marius Sältzer (University of Oldenburg) and Tristan Klingelhöfer (Hebrew University).
I am a member of EPSS' Diversity Committee.
