RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on hyperspectral imaging for food safety and agri-food applications with research projects funded by Science Fundation Ireland, Investissements d’avenir (French National Funding body), Europe (FEDER) - OSEO - Conseil Régional Languedoc-Roussillon (Co-funded project France National funding and European Funding) and FP6-2004-FOOD-3-A (European Funding). I have used hyperspectral imaging for in three main application areas: monitoring biological processes through optical sensors (monitoring of fruit maturation, shelf life, plant water stress through spectral imaging), food safety (detection of allergen traces in flour and detection of pathogenic microorganisms in food related surfaces) and precision agriculture.
