BIO

I'm a postdoctoral researcher at the SCRiBe Project, led by Dr. Lai Ma and funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant (2025-2030). Using SciELO as a case study, I analyze the social and geopolitical dimensions of “openness”, exploring how it is negotiated and examining the boundaries, censorship and regulation frameworks that shape knowledge production and circulation. I'm also a collaborator of the Predatory Publishing Practices project, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, where I investigate the relationship between evaluation regimes, academic work practices and publishing cultures, focusing on the Brazilian case. My research interests revolve around the asymmetries in the production and circulation of knowledge, the internationalization of science and scientific careers, and the geopolitics of knowledge, with a focus on center-periphery dynamics from a critical and relational perspective.
