BIO

David Jennings is a Lecturer in Educational Technology and an Educational Developer within UCD Teaching and Learning. He brings a wealth of experience to his current role, originating as a researcher in the Irish Archaeological Wetland survey where the effective use of technology formed an integral part of the project. Then as the Educational Technology Officer for UCD he promoted the use of technology in teaching and learning across the University.David provides particular support and instruction to early career academics through a number of programmes as well as teaching in the Professional Certificate / Diploma in University Teaching and Learning. He has coordinated National and Institutional projects (the National Digital Learning Repository) And continues to be an advocate of Open Educational Resources (OER): through the provision of guidance and workshops in both the development, dissemination, copyright, and use of such to support e-learning. David designed and wrote the UCD OER site [www.ucdoer.ie] as means to offer unlimited access to educational development materials and maintains an open folder [http://bit.ly/DJOERmaterials] of recent workshops and resources. All are covered by the Creative Commons Attribution licence, and as such may be freely used and adapted, with the relevant citation.
