* Phenomenology, especially Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty * Medieval Philosophy, especially Christian Neoplatonism * Descartes, Berkeley, and Early Modern Philosophy * The History of Irish Philosophy * The History of Idealism, especially Transcendental Idealism * Cognitive Science/ Contemporary Philosophy of Mind * Phenomenology as Applied Method (Qualitative) in the Human Sciences Innovation and Leadership During my three terms as Head of the Department of Philosophy in UCD I successfully oversaw the introduction of semesterisation and modularisation of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. I was part of the design team for the MA in Cognitives Sciences and the more recent MA in Consciousness and Embodiment.
