BIO

Diogo is an Assistant Professor at the UCD School of Economics, a Research Fellow at the Geary Institute for Public Policy, a Research Member of John List’s Chicago Experiments Group, a Research Affiliate at the CESifo Research Network, and a Researcher at the Science of Diversity & Inclusion Initiative (SODI). In addition, Diogo serves as a Co-Chair of the IEA Behavioural Economics Network.

Broadly speaking, Diogo’s main research interests lie in the fields of Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics, Game Theory, and Human-AI Interactions. In his projects, Diogo pursues two fundamental goals. First, through the combination of economic experiments, economic theory, and techniques of econometric analysis, Diogo investigates motivations and incentives underlying behavior in economically relevant settings, as well as Human-AI interactions. Second, through his affiliation with SODI, Diogo disseminates his research-generated behavioral insights to policymakers and stakeholders, believing these insights can help design welfare-enhancing policies.

Before arriving in beautiful Dublin, Diogo’s academic path navigated through Lisboa (Nova SBE), London (LSE), Barcelona (Pompeu Fabra University), New York (Columbia University), and the Netherlands (Maastricht University and Utrecht University). Diogo has also been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago, New York University Abu Dhabi, and Columbia Business School.
