My teaching is based on a research-led and student-centred approach. I seek to blend recent innovations and best practice in pedagogical methodology with the experience derived from many years of teaching history at third level in order to achieve a balanced, stimulating and educative experience. Innovation and Leadership I was responsible as team leader for the design, development and delivery of a new curriculum in Single Subject History which was nominated for a NAIRTL teaching award in 2010. The new curriculum replaced the traditional lecture and seminar based courses with an imaginative range of student-led and research-oriented modules.
