BIO

Efthymios Karangelos is a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Electrical Power Systems within the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin. 

 

Efthymios received the Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens,  Greece, in 2005, the M.Sc. degree in Power Systems Engineering & Economics and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering both from the University of Manchester, U.K., in 2007 and 2012 respectively. Between 2012 - 2024, he held a researcher position at the Institute Montefiore of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science,  University of Liege, Belgium. He has also held a part-time research associate position at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens,  Greece.

 

His research focuses on the development of novel techno-economic concepts, methods and tools for cyber-physical electric power system planning and operation under uncertainty.
