BIO
Elaine O'Reilly was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1982. She graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) with a Bsc (Hons) in Chemistry (2006) and began a PhD in organic chemistry at UCD with Dr Francesca Paradisi.
In 2010, she moved to the University of Manchester where she spent four years working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the direction of Prof. Nicholas J. Turner. In 2014, she joined Manchester Metropolitan University as a Lecturer in Chemical Biology before moving to the University of Nottingham in 2015 as Assistant Professor in Chemical Biology. In 2018, she was promoted to Associate Professor at Nottingham and in 2019, moved to University College Dublin as Associate Professor of Chemical Biology. Her research focuses on the development and application of biocatalysts in organic chemistry.
