My goal is to make my discipline comprehensible to the untrained yet receptive mind, and to enable independent thinking. To achieve this, various educational techniques are needed, accommodating differing intelligence types and individual learning styles. Self-directed, independent learning and mutual lecturer-student trust and respect are all key ingredients to success. Innovation and Leadership I was awarded a Graduate Diploma in University Teaching by UCD in 2010, and in 2007 was awarded a President's Teaching Grant. I have given presentations/papers at national and international educational events 8 times. I have organised and/or participated in supervisor-training events and assisted colleagues supervising law PhD students. At university level, I have peer reviewed other colleagues' teaching and participated in events organised by the Centre for Teaching and Learning to obtain lecturer feedback.
