TEACHING INTERESTS

My teaching philosophy centres on teaching as a student centred activity, with students adopting a deep approach to learning. Enthusiasm of the teacher for their subject and their research interests is critical to creating the optimal learning environment. Our teaching should prepare graduates for life and for work. Regarding innovation and leadership in teaching, Gerardine has held the position of Head of Teaching and Learning within the College of Business and has been a member of and chaired the College of Business Teaching and Learning Committee. Gerardine introduced and evaluated a School of Business teaching award in collaboration with the Centre for Teaching and Learning, UCD.
