My background is in laser and discharge plasmas as sources for short wavelength radiation, extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and soft x-rays undertaken with both TCD and UCD. This work involved substantial custom building and design of vacuum compatible optical and electronic systems. The main diagnostic tools I have gained expertise in through this are fast high current probes, EUV/UV/visible spectroscopy, ion time-of-flight, and plasma dynamics. I have continued in research, towards shorter wavelength diagnostic tools, in the development and characterisation of novel gamma-ray scintillators with the Space Science & Advanced Materials group, UCD.
