BIO

Jackie Sinclair has been a lecturer in the Industrial Relations/Human Resources subject group at the School of Business, UCD, since 1996 teaching in the areas of Industrial Relations, and Equality in Employment. Her previous academic career included research posts at the Universities of Warwick and Keele in the UK, and a lecturing post at Bristol Business School, University of the West of England. Jackie was a mature student at Newbattle Abbey Adult College in Scotland, and later at Warwick University gaining a BA in Politics and then an MA in Industrial Relations, with Distinction. She has subsequently completed a PhD on the subject of Multi-Union Workplaces and Work Reorganisation, at the National University of Ireland, Galway. She has presented research papers at international conferences, and published in academic journals and books. Prior to Jackie's studies and academic career she worked as a secretary in a variety of organisations including the headquarters of a trade union in London. She has held several lay officer positions in white collar trade unions.
