I currently hold the position of ICON Lecturer in Business Analytics in the MIS discipline of the UCD School of Business. Prior to this I held the roles of Director of the Online MSc in Data Analytics and Lecturer in Statistics in the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences. Upon completion of my Ph.D. in Statistics in 2011 in Trinity College Dublin, I held a position as a research fellow in the Discipline of Statistics in University College Cork. I completed my undergraduate degree in University College Dublin in 2007, obtaining a Bsc in Mathematical Science. My present research interests range across the ?fields of spatial analysis, high performance computing and simulation, and medical and agricultural applications. I have a strong interest in the modelling and analysis of extremely large datasets, particularly those comprised of multivariate, spatially indexed data. The practical applications motivating my interest include the modelling of house price information in Dublin, as well as evaluating the speed and cost of abrupt climate change. I am involved in the area of fraud detection, particularly in terms of the development of analytical tools for the detection of fraudulent behaviour in money transfers. I continue to research in the medical imaging area; current interests include the reconstruction of "clean" medical images from "noisy" scan data and the analysis of tumour shape as a prognostic indicator for time to death in cancer studies. My publications to data are mainly in the fields of statistical climatology and statistical methodology. I have also been in receipt of a number of research travel awards. 2015 - : ICON Lecturer in Business Analytics, UCD, Ireland 2013 - 2015 : Lecturer in Statistics & Director of online MSc in Data Analytics, UCD, Ireland2012-2013: Postdoctoral researcher, School of Mathematical Sciences, University College Cork, Ireland.2007-2011: Ph.D in Statistics, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.2003-2007: Bsc (Hons) Mathematical Science, UCD, Ireland
