DrJames Sweeney

I have a broad range of research interests including: Spatial Statistics, Statistical Ecology, Bayesian Statistics, Bayesian Computation and Image Analysis. My interest in many of these topics stem from my Ph.D days, where my research primarily concerned the statistical reconstruction of ancient climate from fossil pollen data. I have also been involved with problems in image analysis; at present I am working on the development of statistical tools for the extraction of useful information from noisy PET medical imaging scans. More recently I have begun to research in the area of fraud detection and risk analytics.
