I completed my PhD in Human Health and Nutritional Science in Canada, before joining the UCD Nutrigenomics Research Group for two years as a post-doctoral research fellow. My research has primarily spanned the fields of adipose tissue metabolism, obesity, and diabetes. Following my post-doctoral training, I joined the Food for Health Ireland (FHI) management team as the Centre Research Programme Manager. The various health pillars within the FHI centre included glycaemic management, appetite modulation, healthy ageing, performance nutrition, and infant nutrition. During my three years working with FHI I also worked closely with industry collaborators; bridging industry with academic science in the food and health fields. In December 2018 I moved to my current position as Centre Manager for Systems Biology Ireland.
