TEACHING ACTIVITIES
I coordinate the Stage 2 modules 'ARCH20500 The Archaeology of Things', covering approaches to material culture from Irish prehistory through to the Middle Ages, and 'ARCH20620 People in Prehistory'. I also contribute to Stage 2 modules on 'Archaeological Science', and 'Cultural Heritage' and to Stage 1 modules on Anthropology and the Archaeology of Ireland.
I currently supervise the following PhD projects (funded by the Irish Research Council):
-- Secrets in the stones: examining the presence of stones with inclusions in the passage tombs of Atlantic Europe (2017-2021)
-- What, when, where and why? Understanding the origins of bog butter in Ireland (2019-2023)
I am happy to discuss PhD projects with potential candidates in the areas of Neolithic archaeology, settlement archaeology and archaeological science.
