BIO

John Connolly has extensive design, analysis and consulting experience across a wide range of biological sciences. He founded the Environmental and Ecological Modeling Group, comprising researchers in UCD and Teagasc. They have developed models of biological systems in many areas of application and currently specialize in providing statistical methods in biodiversity research and its interface with climate change. This work involves collaboration with a broad national and international network of biologists and has established new paradigms for experimental investigations. John was a Bullard Fellow for six months during 1994-95 at Harvard University Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology and since then has regularly visited and worked in collaboration with the research team there. His international collaborations include scientists at Universities at Harvard, Oxford, ETH Zurich, Lleida, Southern Illinois, Tromso and UCSB and ART Zurich.
