RESEARCH INTERESTS

- Astrophysics, gamma-ray bursts, multi-messenger astronomy, robotic telescopes, space instrumentation, Cubesats, gamma-ray detector technology development. - Project Lead for EIRSAT-1, a 2U Cubesat that will be Ireland’s first satellite, being developed by an interdisciplinary team of 12 PhD graduate students at UCD through the European Space Agency’s educational ‘Fly Your Satellite’ programme. - Chair of the ESA INTEGRAL Users’ Group, member of the `THESEUS’ mission Science Study Team, scientific advisor to the Irish delegation of the ESA Science Programme Committee, elected council member of the Royal Astronomical Society. - CEO of spin-out company Parameter Space Ltd is developing software platforms and services that use satellite data - Member of the Irish Space Industry Group steering committee. - Principal Investigator of the Watcher robotic telescope (www.watchertelescope.ie) at Boyden Observatory, South Africa.
