Dr McCullough's project titled "Haemodynamics of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm: A Comparison between Idealised and Patient-Based Geometries " was funded by the Health Research Board (HRB) and Dr Kelly's project titled "Thrombus Growth and its Influence on the Stress Distribution in Paient Based Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Models "by Irish Research Council (IRCSET) The Thomas Hawksley Fund was founded by the late Charles Hawksley, Member of IMechE Council 1913-1917 to commemorate the centenary on 12 July 1907 of the birth of his father, the late Thomas Hawksley FRS, President 1876-1877.
