BIO
Marco Bellardi is Head of Italian in the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics. He completed his BA and MA in Modern Humanities at the University of Milan and graduated with a research focused on Giuseppe Pontiggia’s novels and short stories. He then moved to the University of Birmingham, where he obtained his PhD in 2018 with a thesis on the influence of film form on literary fiction, an interdisciplinary research informed by narratology, semiotics, intermediality, multimodality, and genre theory. Before joining UCD as Lecturer / Assistant Professor in Italian Studies and Cinema, he was Teaching Fellow in Italian at Trinity College Dublin from 2018 to 2021.
