My research interests center around the development of continuous flow processes and their subsequent application to various synthesis challenges within Organic Chemistry. These include the creation of safe methods for generating and using highly reactive intermediates, the synthesis of bioactive heterocyclic architectures, natural products and their analogues as well as modern continuous photochemical methods and cover scales from milligrams to kilograms. We furthermore collaborate with colleagues in Biology to study the pharmaceutical properties of new chemical entities as well as colleagues in Chemical Engineering to develop new flow approaches enabling rapid translation and application of our work to industrial problems.
