DrMaria Mulvany

I am a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the School of English, Drama, Film and Creative Writing at UCD. My current research interests include contemporary fiction, the neo-historical novel, Irish women's writing, affect studies, trauma studies and queer studies. I currently serve as an associate editor for the Irish University Review (2025- ). Prior to my current role, I held a number of post-doctoral research positions and enjoyed working collaboratively with colleagues in the UCD Centre for Cultural Analytics on a series of nationally and internationally funded projects including the Nation, Gender Genre Project, The Rosamond Jacob Diaries Project, The Contagion Project: Biopolitics and Cultural Memory and the European Research Council funded project - Victeur: European Migrants in the Victorian and Neo-Victorian Imagination. In 2023, I was the lead PI on an SFI/Insight Centre for Data Analytics interdisciplinary educational outreach project entitled Novel Analytics: Supporting the Secondary School Computer Science Curriculum. In 2020, I also managed the HEA Teaching and Learning (SATLE) initiative, Digital Methods and Data Literacy. In 2021, I was the recipient of an Irish Research Council Funded (Research Ireland) Postdoctoral Fellowship. I am currently working on a monograph on contemporary neo-historical Irish fiction.
