BIO

Maria Mulvany is an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the School of English, Drama and Film at UCD. She held an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship from 2021-22. She completed her PhD on the topic of spectrality, transgenerational trauma and pleasure in contemporary Irish historical fiction. Her research interests include gender and sexuality studies, critical theory, the ghost story, psychoanalysis, psychosocial studies, contemporary Irish literature, the historical novel and digital humanities.

This project was generously funded by the HEA/National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Her publications and projects include the co-edited new multimedia edition of James Joyce's "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" (2017) at www.joyceportrait100.com and the Rosamond Jacob Diaries Project (1917-23) which forms the basis of a large scale advanced handwriting analysis project with Dr Derek Greene (UCD Insight Centre for Data Analytics) and Prof Smeaton (DCU).
