TEACHING ACTIVITIES
My approach to teaching attempts to target all learning styles. I begin with motivational examples before presenting general results. I teach mainly by working through examples and problems with chalk on the Blackboard (a suitably dynamic medium). I support my lectures with a set of high-quality notes (made available online). From 2011-2023 I served as Head of Teaching and Learning for the School of Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering; my duties included addressing aggregate online student feedback at School level. I have had an active role in designing the new ME Programme in Electronic and Computer Engineering, in particular taking the lead role in designing the Software Engineering components in collaboration with staff in the School of CSI. I am also trained to serve as a member of accreditation panels.
