My teaching approach aims to stimulate interest, convey the excitement of scientific investigation, impart knowledge and facilitate self-learning. My approach is always student-centred and is perhaps most influences by constructivist models where I see myself as the facilator of learning rather than an instructor. Innovation and Leadership I have led the development of the new online Science Master's programme(Environmental Sustainability) to start in September 2013.. I have designed and obtained approval for a new University Certificate in Biological Identification and Recording to start in January 2014. I have developed online faunal identification keys. I am leading efforts to enhance collaboration between coordinators of taught environmental masters programmes to promote effective and innovative use of existing resources and faciliate higher student intake.
