BIO

The links to my webpage, complete CV (.pdf) and other online profiles (ORCID, Google Scholar, etc...) are at the bottom left or right or somewhere. I am an unapologetic, serial collaborator who is dedicated to interdisciplinary perspectives. Reflective of my rejection of any bright lines between disciplines in social science is a pursuit of peer-reviewed publication in sociology, demography, political science, criminology, public health, history and urban studies. I am the current Editor-in-Chief of the Irish Journal of Sociology, which benefits from a crack team of co-editors and a stunningly talented editorial board. I enjoy teaching a variety of courses, both graduate and undergraduate, on topics ranging from introductory themes to social theory to more methodological content. At the moment, I am particularly fond of a course I teach on lying and deception, but I can't promise I won't change my mind before I update this again. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 with a joint PhD in sociology and demography. Before arriving at the School of Sociology at University College Dublin in 2016, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Office of Population Research at Princeton University, a lecturer in the Department of Political and Social Science at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and an assistant professor in the Sociology Department at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
