Michael is a lecturer in political economy at the School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice. His work is focused on urban political economy, in particular the relationship between the financial system and housing, as well as the politics of housing and urban activism. Michael is the Director of the Msc. in Equality Studies and teaches Social Justice at undergraduate level. He also participates in the Dublin Tenants Association. Michael's recent research projects include: 1. The political economy of 'generation rent' 2. Comparative social housing finance (with Prof. Michelle Norris) 3. The urban dimension of NAMA and 'bad banks' (under an IRC Post-doctoral fellowship at Maynooth University) 4.
