BIO
I am a microbiologist working at the interface of microbiology and plant biology. My research combines molecular tools with ecological approaches to decipher the molecular underpinnings and environmental distribution of bacterial-fungal symbioses and their role in plant health. I completed my PhD in 2017 at Cornell University, NY, USA followed by a 2-year IRC Postdoctoral Fellowship carried out in the UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science. After that, I joined a plant pathology group as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science before commencing my current appointment as Assistant Professor in the UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science in 2022 and setting up the Microbial Interactions (MInt) research group in 2023.
