PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • PERSONAL AWARD, PRIZE, HONOUR
Dublin City Council Academic Publishing Subvention
    5 May 2026
This subvention was awarded by Dublin City Council to support accessibility and public engagement with a book that I am lead author on, Waking the Hirschfeld: An Oral and Archival History of Dublin's Hirschfeld Centre. The Hirschfeld Centre was a foundational institution in Irish LGBTQ+ history, yet it has not been comprehensively recorded in any publication to date. Much of its original archive was tragically destroyed in the fire that led to its closure, meaning that this project—built through painstaking oral histories and recovered materials—serves as a vital act of cultural preservation and a public service. The book gives voice to a significant but under-documented chapter of Irish history, ensuring its stories are not lost to time.
