ProfessorPatricia Maguire

I am a biomedical scientist with an international research profile spanning cardiovascular biology, thrombosis, biomarker discovery and AI-enabled healthcare. My work has been published in leading journals including Nature Communications, The Lancet Digital Health, PNAS and Blood, and has been built around interdisciplinary collaboration across basic science, clinical research and data science.

As Principal Investigator, I have secured more than €5 million in competitive research funding, including €1.5 million in industry and non-exchequer support from Bayer AG, Sanofi, Actelion Pharmaceuticals, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and Google. I have been invited to speak at major academic and industry institutions including Siemens Healthineers, Université de Strasbourg/INSERM, the University of Tübingen and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.

I have also led international collaborations with institutions including Harvard Medical School and the University of Cambridge, resulting in senior-author publications in journals such as Blood, PNAS and Proteomics.
