My research has always examined the interactions between Latin and English in Anglo-Saxon England, culminating in my monograph The Politics of Language: Byrhtferth, Ælfric, and the Multilingual Identity of the Benedictine Reform . My current work continues to focus on the dynamic relationship between Latin and English as literary and functional languages, but it has expanded to read the scientific literature of England in the same context as the poetic literature. My current book project is entitled Writing Poetry in the Stars: Interactions between Science and Literature in Anglo-Saxon England.
