BIO

Dr. Richard McGee is Assistant Professor of Banking and Finance in the UCD School of Business. Dr. McGee completed his PhD in Finance at UCD in 2013 and was affiliated to the FMC2 research cluster during this time. Subsequently, he took up a position as Lecturer in Finance at the University of Southampton (2013-2017). Dr. McGee has significant industry experience and has maintained strong links with the finance sector, including involvement with three research grants with a UK asset manager while at Southampton. His main research interests are in empirical asset pricing, economic insights from predictions markets and applications of machine learning in finance. His work has been published in the European Journal of Operational Research, Economics letters and International Review of Financial Analysis and has been presented at a number of international finance conferences such as the Mid West Finance Association and European Financial Management Association conferences.
