BIO

Dr. Rosa McNamara is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine with a particular focus on Geriatric Emergency Medicine and Medical Education. She has extensive experience working in both the United Kingdom and Ireland, where she has developed innovative clinical and educational pathways for the unscheduled care of older adults. Her work emphasises integration and inter-professional collaboration to enhance patient outcomes. Dr. McNamara holds master’s degrees in Gerontology and Medical Education. She currently serves as the Clinical Lead for the National Clinical Programme in Emergency Medicine and practices clinically at St. Vincent’s University Hospital.

 

Dr. McNamara is the Chair of the Geriatric Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group within the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM) and an active member of the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), contributing to its Geriatric Emergency Medicine section.

 

Additionally, Dr. McNamara is a co-lead for Part A of the European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine (EBEEM) as part of her role on the Emergency Medicine Examination Reference Group for Europe (EMERGE).
