BIO

Saba Aghdam Tabar is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD), currently working on the ERC-funded ABSOLUTE project under the supervision of Prof. Eoin Casey.

Her research focuses on sustainable environmental bioprocesses, wastewater treatment, and renewable energy integration, with a particular emphasis on mathematical modelling, process optimisation, and resource recovery.

Her doctoral research at UCD, investigated the integration of wastewater treatment plants with electricity and gas networks to enhance energy efficiency, resource recovery, and environmental sustainability. Her work involved dynamic process simulation, anaerobic digestion, biological methanation, green hydrogen integration, and energy system optimisation.

Her current postdoctoral research focuses on biofilm systems, particularly the modelling and understanding of biofilm growth, dynamics, and detachment processes.
