Sabine Koelle is Full Professor of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at the University College Dublin, School of Medicine and Medical Sciences. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Munich, where she also took part in the studies of medicine and dentistry. She worked as assistant professor in the Max-Planck Institute in Martinsried in Germany and received her habilitation in the Institute of Veterinary Anatomy, Histology and Embryology of the Veterinary School of the University of Munich. In 2004 she was appointed as associate professor in the Institute of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology in the Veterinary School of the University of Giessen, Germany. In 2009 she was appointed as Head of the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology at the University of Vienna, Austria. Sabine Koelle has received two scholarships enabling her to work at Cornell University and Texas A&M University, USA. She has worked as visiting professor in France, Argentina, Spain, Hungary, Italy and Australia. She is winner of numerous research awards and is known for excellent scientific photography and video imaging.
