I am an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow working on a project 'In Foreign Soil: Death Abroad in Scottish Literature and Life Writing 1790-1900' which looks at death in nineteenth-century Scottish migrant writing. I am affiliated with the ERC SouthHem Project. I graduated with a PhD in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh in 2016 where my thesis focused on Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine. I have previously worked as a Leverhulme Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher within the Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Otago, NZ and as a research assistant on the New Edinburgh Edition of the Collected Works of Robert Louis Stevenson. I was recently selected for a Fulbright Scottish Studies Scholar Award and visited the University of South Carolina as an Exchange Scholar from January to June 2018.
