BIO

Simon C Rowan (BSc, PhD) is a Marie Slodowska-Curie Fellow who is currently seconded to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, CA, USA. His fellowship is focused on the investigation of the newly identified invasive fibroblast and the lipofibroblast in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This collaborative fellowship and research project has combined the expertise of the world leading clinician/scientist Prof. Paul Noble with Ireland's leading experts in pulmonary research Prof. Paul McLoughlin and Professor Michael Keane. Dr. Rowan has lectured in respiratory physiology and biomedical engineering in the UCD School of Medicine and contributes to lecture series on human and comparative physiology in the College of Health and Agriculture.He has authored and contributed to scientific, peer reviewed publications, in the highest impact journals in his field such as the Lancet Respiratory Medicine and Circulation.
