Dr Steven Hollis is a Geological Survey Ireland Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the iCRAG Raw Materials research spoke. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Birmingham in 2007 and an MSc in Geochemistry from the University of Leeds in 2008. His PhD was completed at the University of Southampton in 2012 on the Evolution and Mineralization of the Tyrone Igneous Complex of Northern Ireland. During his PhD he also sailed on IODP Leg 331 to the Iheya North hydrothermal field, and worked for one year as an exploration geologist for Dalradian Resources. For his first Postdoctoral position Dr Hollis was employed as an Embedded Researcher for the Geological Survey of Western Australia at CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) in Perth. His project focused on targeting VMS mineralization in the Archean Yilgarn Craton of Western Australia.
