Central to my philosophy is supporting students to develop their awareness and understanding of psychological research in the world around them, and to become skilled in evaluating aspects of that world. A common goal is that students become curious about conducting inquiries, as well as confident in the skills needed to do so. In recent years I have had a number of opportunities to develop leadership skills and explore innovative teaching practices. Key experiences include: - Head of Teaching and Learning in the School of Psychology - Contribution to the development of a learning to learn module for 1st Year BA Students (PSY10110 Learning for Success @ University and HUM1003 Introduction to Arts). - Evaluation of teaching initiatives in other schools and colleges in UCD. - UCD Fellow in Teaching and Academic Development (2011 - 2013).
