Active projects (as of 2026) include assessing the timing and contribution of ocean ridge-flank hydrothermal circulation to global biogeochemical cycles; scientific ocean drilling of ocean lithosphere; natural hydrogen, carbon sequestration, copper–gold mineralization, magmatic processes, and geological mapping in ophiolites; multi- and hyperspectral remote sensing for regional geological mapping in rocky deserts (Projects in Oman, UAE, Algeria, Pakistan) and the development of enabling laser ablation analytical methodologies for trace element and radiogenic isotopes, suited for geochronology and fingerprinting of geological, planetary, and archeological materials.
