BIO

I started in UCD SPIRe as an Assistant Professor and Ad Astra Fellow in January 2020, having been a post-doctoral researcher at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (2012-19) and the LSE (2011-12) before. Joining UCD meant a return to Ireland for me, where I had completed a PhD (at Trinity College) in 2011.

My research focuses on questions of Comparative Politics, with special emphasis on electoral systems, parliamentary behaviour and political parties. Geographically, my work covers a wide array of European democracies, including Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland and Sweden. On the methodological side, I have a strong interest in applied statistical modeling in order to learn from data.
