DrTomas Buitendijk

I am an interdisciplinary researcher working on the social and cultural dimensions of coastal, marine and energy transformations. I am currently leading the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) funded COPSE project on community energy programmes in Ireland.

I am one of the inaugural Climate Fellows at the UCD Earth Institute. I am also the co-founder and coordinator of the Marine & Energy Social Sciences & Humanities Interdisciplinary Research Group (MESSAGE), which is supported by the Earth Institute and iCRAG, the Research Ireland Centre for Applied Geosciences. Finally, I am the Communications Lead for the UCD Sustainability Core Working Group on Research, Innovation and Impact.
