TEACHING INTERESTS

I am fortunate to teach the First World War, its origins and consequences. One of the most controversial periods of modern history, in my view, the war provides students with a unique opportunity to see historians at work, to question historians' conclusions and interpretations, and to shape their own research. Innovation and Leadership I have received a diploma in academic practice from the University of Glasgow in 2006. Between 2008 and 2011 I was the Director of Teaching & Learning in the School of History, responsible for syllabus development, introduction of new assessment methods, and the establishment of workshops for incoming staff members.
