Ainhoa González is an Assistant Professor in the School of Geography, University College Dublin, and the Head of School of Teaching and Learning. She is an environmental planner and her research focuses on developing and applying geospatial analysis tools and methods for assessing environmental change and impacts, to better inform planning and decision-making. Ainhoa has published a number of guidance manuals on Strategic Environmental Assessment for the Environmental Protection Agency. She has published a book and a number of book chapters, as well as papers in national and international journals including: Journal of Environmental Management; Landscape and Urban Planning; Environmental Impact Assessment Review, Computers, Environment and Urban Systems; Land Use Policy; Regional Studies; and Irish Geography. She is a board member of the Earth Institute at UCD, of the International Association for Impact Assessment UK-Ireland branch, and of the Spanish Association for Impact Assessment. She is also a member of the international editorial review board of the Journal of Environmental Assessment Policy and Management (JEAPM), and of Impact Assessment and Project Appraisal (IAPA). Ainhoa teaches Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Assessment and Geographic Information Systems at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is the programme director for the MSc in Applied Geospatial Analysis.
