Assoc ProfessorAnnetta Zintl

I am a lecturer in Veterinary Parasitology and Immunology and participate in the delivery of both the Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Nursing programmes at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1994 I completed my degree in Zoology (Trinity College Dublin) and received the Gold Medal for outstanding academic achievement. My PhD on fish parasites was carried out between the Departments of Zoology and Biochemistry at Trinity College, and completed in 1998. After spending several years in full-time research as a post-doctoral fellow and Newman Scholar at the UCD Veterinary Sciences Centre, I was offered a position as lecturer in 2012. I hold postgraduate certificates in Veterinary Education (Royal Veterinary College, London) and in research supervision and support (UCD). I am an appointed member of the Veterinary Council of Ireland. Finally I serve on the editorial boards of Veterinary Parasitology, Parasitology, Parasitologia and Ticks and Tickborne Diseases and regularly act as ad hoc reviewer for a range of international journals and funding bodies.
