RESEARCH INTERESTS

Broadly speaking, Anthony’s research interests lie in understanding how people experience, engage with, and communicate about the cultural, political, and social dimensions of technological change. Anthony has extensive experience of developing these thematics across academic and industry research roles, including most recently as a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow in ICS, working under the academic mentorship of Prof Kylie Jarrett. Anthony’s current work leverages his core research interests to foster a new focus on the political implications of generative media and the status of influencer audiences in the EU’s regulatory ecosystem. Anthony is happy to explore the possibility of supervising postgraduate students whose work touches any of the following themes or topics: Political communication; Reactionary politics; Mediation of sex, sexualities, and gender; Digital platforms; Creator economies; Influencer regulations; User-generated media; Qualitative and computational discourse analysis; Digital ethnography; Digital anthropology; Information ecology; Social identity; Voice
