TEACHING ACTIVITIES
I teach across Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering with Architecture and Architecture, with a focus on structural analysis, design, wind engineering and the built environment. I coordinate interdisciplinary modules across Stages 1–3, teaching approximately 300 students each year, and aim to make engineering learning rigorous, inclusive and connected to the realities of professional practice.
My teaching is informed by my experience as a Chartered Engineer and former practising engineer at Arup. I use authentic, scaffolded learning and assessment, student choice, peer feedback and collaboration with industry to help students build disciplinary knowledge, professional confidence and the capacity to apply their learning to real-world challenges.
I am committed to inclusive education and to students as active partners in their learning. My educational practice and scholarship encompass Universal Design for Learning, academic advising, work-integrated learning, student partnership, academic integrity and the responsible use of generative AI in teaching and assessment.
